    N7MMC's MSYS BBS in Laramie
After many, many years of service and opeation, N7MMC's MSYS Packet BBS in Laramie was shut down for good on 1 Nov 99
Tom (N7MMC), sites lack of interest in the local Amateur comunity as evidenced by fewer and fewer logins coupled with some equipment failures. It would have cost several hundreds of dollars to get the system back online. With the lack of activity, he figured it just wasn't worth it anymore
N7MMC's BBS station was a focal point for traffic forwarding to many parts of the US. His station was even mentioned in an example of R: lines in the Kantronics KPC3+ TNC manuals.
Many thanks Tom for the many years of packet activity in the Laramie Valley!

    AGWPE
A full featured Windows 9x packet system that will use multiple TNCs or Sound Cards as 'TNCs'
    The AGWPE home page
Bill Kearns has written a Setup Checklist to help get AGWPE working with a sound card and WinAPRS

    PaKet
    Tony Lonsdale's PaKet
DOS based - will run well in Windows (any flavor) - considered by many to be 'the best'

    YAPP V2.0
DOS Based, runs on older 'legacy' PC's - will run on a single floppy (360K) system with room left over
    YAPP V2.0 (38KB)
YAPP has screen capture, DOS Shell, scroll buffer, ASCII and Binary (YAPP) file transfer
Supports only COM1 or COM2 with standard interupts
    ZIP Archive

    MSYS Terminal V1.04
Included with the full MSYS package, here it is 'separate'
Similar features to YAPP V2.0, but has wider COM port addressing, and better message handling
DOS based, runs on 'legacy' PC's and small - fits on a 360K floppy with lots of room left
One of the better choices if you're working an MSYS BBS
Features include: YAPP support, ASCII file capture, ASCII file transmission, 800 line scroll back buffer, DOS Shell, Interrupt driven serial I/O with 16,000 byte input buffer, Support for serial ports at any address and Int 0-7, Reverse forward poll for messages, Forward to a BBS and more
    MSYS Terminal V1.04(39Kb)
    Self Extracting Archive

    BBS Software

    MSYS
Considered by many to be one of the better BBS systems. MSYS Supports KA-Node, NETrom, HF packet, forwarding, YAPP and ASCII, etc.. - basicly, if you want to do it as a BBS, this'll do it - and probobly a lot more! All you need is the radio, a PC (will run on an XT class, AT or above suggested) and a TNC that runs in KISS mode
You can get all you need at The Official MSYS Web Page
These are all self extracting archives.
I suggest you print out the documentation (archived in MOPT118.EXE) - it's extensive and VERY well worth reading about a half dozen times BEFORE you start setting up
This is one program where "RTFM is NOT a four letter word"!
    ! * ! * ! * Read The Manual * ! * ! * !

    MSYSB
A stripped down version of MSYS that supports only the BBS functions. There is no network NODe, no AMTOR, no TCP/IP in this version. You can still forward using external network nodes, but the BBS is NOT a netrom network node! The KANODe is still there. All of the BBS functions remain, along with modem support.
You can get MSYSB as well at The Official MSYS Web Page as well
